As the company moved toward commercial rollout, it needed a stronger digital platform to support that next stage. To win city procurement and investor trust, the team needed a site that matched its scientific credibility and explained the transition from Plastic to Asphalt to non-technical stakeholders. The goal was a clear Shopify presence aligned to US buyers.

The previous site limited updates and failed to reflect the company’s growth. DevsData LLC was brought in to redesign the platform, improving navigation, visuals, and content flexibility to better engage clients and partners. The company applies material science to reduce landfill waste while addressing the demand for durable road additives.

Within the broader CleanTech industry, solutions that transform waste into usable resources have gained attention from municipalities and investors alike. Molten Materials aligns with this trend by positioning its technology for public-sector adoption, where procurement processes increasingly favor sustainability criteria. The firm’s ongoing development programs and plans for scaling reflect the sector’s shift toward practical applications of science that combine environmental responsibility with infrastructure needs.

Project scope and objectives

Molten Materials chose DevsData LLC for its proven experience delivering complex web projects on tight schedules. The client needed a Shopify storefront to begin selling its products commercially and manage real customer orders. The mandate called for a full redesign within a fixed timeline, combining technical execution with modern design. The engagement was structured as a focused build, with delivery speed prioritized and every feature reviewed for reliability.

The scope covered the development of a custom Shopify theme with modular content blocks, payment integration, and analytics tracking. Beyond a layout refresh, the project required aligning the design with CleanTech branding and explaining scientific processes in clear, straightforward terms for municipal buyers and investors. Core technologies applied included Liquid and SCSS, with JavaScript for interactivity. Design collaboration took place in Figma, and workflows were structured to allow rapid iteration. Each part of the site was designed to support daily operations, from explaining technical processes to providing materials used in procurement discussions.

Objectives were tied to measurable outcomes. Delivery had to be completed in under six weeks to coincide with bid schedules and investor presentations. Expected impact included smoother internal workflows that cut content updates, stronger mobile conversion rates, and renewed credibility in public-sector sales. The build also provided a scalable foundation for future regional storefronts, keeping the company ready for expansion.

Challenges and constraints

Building a Shopify site for Molten Materials was demanding due to the strict timeline and the need to present complex CleanTech technology in a clear, accessible way. DevsData LLC had prior experience with Shopify development, including an eCommerce project with augmented reality for a private client, which informed the approach.

Drawing on this background, the team addressed the client’s unique requirements through targeted solutions, summarized in the table below.

Challenge

The DevsData LLC Solution

Fragmented legacy site

The old WordPress build mixed hardcoded sections with outdated plugins, slowing updates
and disrupting consistency. DevsData LLC replaced this with a custom Shopify theme
structured on modular CMS blocks, giving non-technical staff the ability to manage
content quickly.

Complex technology presentation

The company’s core technologies required clear explanations for municipal buyers unfamiliar
with CleanTech concepts. Designers prototyped in Figma, while developers created responsive
product pages with visual elements that made the technical content easier to understand.

Tight delivery schedule

The launch deadline was under six weeks to align with procurement cycles. DevsData LLC
ran design and development in parallel, with rolling QA supported by Trello and Slack to
maintain alignment.

Mobile performance gaps

Testing revealed slow load times and drop-offs on smaller devices. Developers optimized
Liquid templates, compressed SCSS assets, and added selective caching, improving
Lighthouse scores and increasing mobile conversions.

These constraints highlighted the need for a partner with both technical depth and industry awareness. DevsData LLC applied a structured approach that delivered a Shopify build meeting the client’s operational timeline and long-term CleanTech goals.

Results and impact

The Shopify project for Molten Materials was delivered within six weeks, meeting the client’s timeline for procurement deadlines and investor showcases. The outcome was a fully functional storefront that combined technical reliability with a presentation style suited to CleanTech buyers and stakeholders.

Key outcomes included:

Internal staff gained the ability to update content independently through a modular CMS, reducing reliance on developers.

The storefront design clearly communicated CleanTech processes such as Plastic to Asphalt™ and MoltenWeld™, making them accessible to non-technical audiences.

Secure payment functionality was integrated directly into the Shopify build, supporting the client’s commercial rollout.

Navigation and layout were simplified, allowing municipalities and investors to locate relevant information with ease.

A scalable architecture was delivered, giving the client a foundation for future regional storefronts and expansion.

            <picture class="" style="filter: grayscale(0)">

            </picture>

“This project required more than a standard Shopify build. Every stage, from Liquid template configuration to responsive design checks, had to reflect the expectations of US municipal buyers and CleanTech stakeholders. The complexity of aligning technical execution with sector-specific communication meant that our review process was more rigorous than usual.”

This engagement gave Molten Materials a stable Shopify foundation with measurable gains in performance and usability. DevsData LLC’s contribution strengthened the company’s ability to pursue CleanTech opportunities with a platform ready to scale for future regional storefronts.

Conclusion

Molten Materials entered this project with a significant hurdle. Its existing site was slow to update, poorly suited for public-sector presentations, and no longer adequate for commercial expansion. For a CleanTech company preparing to secure municipal contracts, the gap between technical innovation and digital presence created a business risk that needed to be addressed without delay.

DevsData LLC handled the assignment through a structured build process that emphasized both efficiency and accuracy. Work was organized into sprints with iterative reviews, and every design and development decision was vetted against operational needs. Using Shopify with Liquid, SCSS, and supporting JavaScript features, the team delivered a platform where content edits took a fraction of the time previously required.

The new platform strengthened how the client managed content by giving internal teams direct control over updates. It also improved clarity of communication, with product pages written to explain the company’s recycling and bonding technologies in terms that connected with municipal buyers and investors. The storefront itself was structured for scalability, making it suitable for upcoming procurement opportunities and future expansion.

This project demonstrates how DevsData LLC applies proven methods to complex technical and business contexts. With over nine years of market experience, a database of 65000+ vetted professionals, and international reach across the US and Europe, the firm continues to support clients facing scale, recruitment, or development challenges.

Need a Shopify site that performs as well as it looks?
Reach out to DevsData LLC at general@devsdata.com or visit their website at www.devsdata.com.

                Any questions or comments?
