Their internal resources couldn’t keep pace with the demands of their growing client base, and the requirement for a hybrid work setup in Monterrey, Mexico, combining on-site and remote work, further narrowed the talent pool.

Headquartered in San Francisco, Regrello specializes in AI solutions for manufacturing and operations. To support its secure platform, the company needed to hire four engineers – two Senior Developers and two DevOps Specialists. The requirements were strict: top-tier technical talent, familiarity with startup culture, and residency in Monterrey for a hybrid work setup.

Over a focused three-month campaign, DevsData LLC launched a multi-channel recruitment initiative, leveraging its LATAM network to source, screen, and deliver long-term hires that met both the technical and logistical demands of the role.

            <picture class="open-picture" style="filter: grayscale(0)">

            </picture>

Client overview

Regrello develops an AI-powered workflow platform that helps large manufacturers automate and coordinate complex operational processes – from supply chain management to quality assurance and production tracking. One of the main hurdles was the narrow candidate pool – Regrello required engineers to be based in Monterrey and work in a hybrid model, which limited access to qualified talent.

Competition for top engineers in Latin America further intensified the challenge. The region’s AI and DevOps specialists are in exceptionally high demand, with many already employed by global tech companies offering remote, dollar-denominated salaries. Finding professionals who combined deep technical expertise, security awareness, and availability for hybrid work required targeted, persistent sourcing.

On top of that, Regrello’s technical bar was exceptionally high. Candidates needed a strong command of CI/CD automation, cloud-native architecture, and enterprise-grade security protocols, narrowing the field even further.

Finally, many technically strong candidates lacked startup adaptability or familiarity with AI products – qualities crucial for success in Regrello’s fast-paced, experimentation-driven culture.

Strategic recruitment approach

To meet Regrello’s strict hiring criteria, hybrid presence in Monterrey, deep technical expertise, and a startup-ready mindset, the company needed a recruitment partner with regional reach, technical understanding, and a proven record of success in complex, high-stakes hiring.

That’s why Regrello chose DevsData LLC. With over 95000 pre-vetted engineers in its proprietary database, including more than 12000 professionals based in Latin America, DevsData LLC has delivered dozens of successful placements across Latin America. The firm’s average time-to-hire is under four weeks, even for senior technical roles, and its clients include AI, FinTech, and SaaS companies operating on a global scale.

This combination of deep regional coverage and technical specialization made DevsData LLC uniquely positioned to deliver results for Regrello’s demanding AI and DevOps recruitment project.

DevsData LLC implemented a structured, high-touch recruitment process tailored to Regrello’s technical and operational goals. Instead of simply forwarding CVs, our team acted as an embedded recruitment partner — aligning closely with Regrello’s CTO to define the precise mix of skills, tools, and security competencies needed for their AI-driven environment.

We focused on engineers with proven experience in secure infrastructure management, DevOps automation, and full stack development using Go, GraphQL, React, and TypeScript. Each candidate underwent a three-step vetting process combining a technical deep dive, a practical coding or DevOps challenge, and a cultural-fit interview assessing adaptability and startup mindset.

To ensure consistent quality, we conducted weekly calibration calls with Regrello’s technical leadership, refining candidate profiles in real-time. This close collaboration allowed us to maintain speed without compromising on depth – a core aspect of DevsData LLC’s model, which blends technical evaluation, regional expertise, and direct client alignment throughout the entire process.

„It wasn’t just about skills – we needed people who could handle startup pace and pick things up fast. We adjusted our screening week by week based on feedback from Regrello’s CTO to stay on target.“

The recruitment process followed a multi-stage evaluation. A broad pool of candidates across Latin America was sourced and screened for DevOps experience in cloud-native environments and senior backend expertise relevant to AI systems.

Selected candidates moved to in-depth technical interviews led by DevsData LLC’s senior engineers. These assessments focused on production experience, system architecture, infrastructure automation, and communication skills for remote work.

A smaller group advanced to final interviews with Regrello. Two DevOps Engineers and two Senior Developers were hired and onboarded.

Technical implementation

Candidates underwent a tailored evaluation process that included:

Live technical interviews focusing on secure infrastructure and modern dev workflows

Take-home assignments using relevant tools (e.g., Go and React-based tasks)

Soft skills assessment to ensure team collaboration and a product ownership mindset

DevsData LLC emphasized engineers with hands-on experience in building or maintaining secure infrastructure (IaC, automated patching, secure base images), cloud-native platforms, and CI/CD pipelines optimized for AI-powered applications.

Result and impact

The recruitment process concluded with the successful placement of four engineers, two DevOps Specialists, and two Senior Developers, each carefully selected for their technical depth, security awareness, and adaptability to fast-moving AI environments.

Do you have IT recruitment needs?

                    🎧
                    Schedule a meeting

The DevOps Engineers brought experience from high-compliance and data-intensive industries, with proven records in secure cloud automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and real-time monitoring systems. Their expertise with Terraform, AWS, and Kubernetes enabled Regrello to stabilize the infrastructure supporting AI workloads, streamline model deployment, and enhance observability across distributed environments.

The Senior Developers complemented this foundation with hands-on experience in building scalable, data-driven applications using Go, GraphQL, React, and TypeScript. Both had contributed to AI or automation-centric startups, demonstrating initiative, fast learning, and the ability to translate complex business logic into intelligent, user-facing features – exactly the blend of technical and product insight Regrello needed.

Within the first few weeks, these hires made immediate, measurable contributions. They optimized deployment pipelines for AI model updates, introduced new monitoring and alerting systems for faster anomaly detection, and accelerated the release of features powering Regrello’s AI-driven workflow automation platform.

Beyond the technical gains, the new hires brought much-needed stability and ownership to the engineering function. Their full-time presence allowed Regrello to move away from short-term contractors, creating a cohesive, scalable team structure capable of supporting ongoing AI innovation and long-term product growth.

Conclusion

This project demonstrates how targeted, region-specific recruitment can empower AI companies to scale efficiently – even under strict technical, security, and location constraints. By focusing on Monterrey and leveraging deep regional expertise, DevsData LLC delivered engineers who strengthened Regrello’s AI-driven platform and accelerated its product roadmap.

DevsData LLC’s success with Regrello builds on a growing portfolio of AI-focused recruitment projects across North America, Europe, and LATAM – including senior engineering hires for companies such as Hypatos (Germany) and TokenMetrics (USA).
