An AWS Cloud Engineer is responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies. Typical duties and responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform for automated deployment and configuration management.
• Configure and optimize cloud security measures, including IAM policies, network security groups, and encryption protocols.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, incorporating containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure performance and costs using AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Cost Explorer.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues and implement solutions to ensure high availability and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate cloud services and maintain production environments.
• Provide technical guidance and documentation for cloud infrastructure and deployment processes.

Required skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in cloud computing and infrastructure management.
• Demonstrated expertise in core AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and Lambda, with experience in designing and implementing cloud-based solutions at scale.
• Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform, including the ability to develop and maintain complex infrastructure templates.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) and experience automating cloud infrastructure management tasks and deployment processes.
• Proven experience implementing and managing containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Comprehensive understanding of networking concepts, security protocols, and compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, SOC2) in cloud environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines, including integration with version control systems and automated testing frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills, with experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting technical solutions to stakeholders.

Nice to have/preferred skills and experience (not required)

• Multiple AWS certifications, including AWS Solutions Architect Professional and AWS DevOps Engineer Professional.
• 7+ years of experience in cloud computing with demonstrated expertise in complex, enterprise-level AWS implementations.
• Experience with multi-cloud architectures and hybrid cloud solutions involving AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Advanced expertise in cloud security frameworks and compliance standards, including experience with AWS Security Hub and Guard Duty.
• Proven track record of leading large-scale cloud migration projects and implementing cloud center-of-excellence practices.
