Through its user-friendly website, GdziePoLek.pl, users can find medicine availability and place orders for rapid delivery via urban courier services.

Founded in 2014 and launched publicly in 2015, Where Are Meds Ltd. is an independent, mission-driven startup focused on improving access to medication in Poland. Its platform, GdziePoLek.pl, allows users to search the real-time availability of prescription drugs in nearby pharmacies, both online and in-store, saving time and reducing the hassle of finding needed medications, especially those that are hard to find.

GdziePoLek generates an estimated $7 million in annual revenue. Its digital services are widely used across Poland by tens of thousands of patients each month, providing critical medication search capabilities, e-prescription support, and real-time price comparisons. The platform also includes pharmacist consultations and medication guidance, reinforcing its role as a trusted source in the Polish healthcare ecosystem.

Operating in a fast-moving and highly regulated sector, the company maintains its agility through scalable technologies and a responsive product team. Its engineering infrastructure supports real-time pharmacy inventory queries, advanced API integrations, and a robust mobile experience.

Challenge

This recruitment project quickly became complex due to shifting expectations and evolving internal priorities. While the client’s goal was clear, hire multiple mid-level developers, requirements changed several times, reducing the available talent pool and requiring DevsData LLC to pivot its strategy.

Key issues:

The initial brief was broad – hire mid-level developers located anywhere in Poland. As the client’s internal team structures evolved, however, the preference narrowed to a few specific cities (Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław). This shift wasn’t a major challenge but required slight adjustments to the sourcing strategy to ensure candidates matched the updated location criteria.

During the recruitment process, shifts in internal priorities introduced some delays in feedback and decision-making. To keep things moving and maintain candidate interest, DevsData LLC stayed proactive – providing regular updates, keeping prospects engaged, and adjusting communication rhythms as needed.

Due to the entry-level nature of the role, limited salary range, and newly imposed location restrictions, the number of incoming applications was considerably lower than in comparable junior developer projects. This necessitated broader outreach and alternative sourcing channels.

While Where Are Meds Ltd had a meaningful product and a growing user base, it was still building its visibility among tech professionals. Goals

The collaboration between Where Are Meds Ltd and DevsData LLC was shaped by five core objectives. The first priority was to deliver a shortlist of qualified mid-level developer candidates within 2 weeks. Despite the constrained talent pool, the client required rapid access to top-tier local candidates to maintain internal momentum and prevent delays in product development. Another objective was to ensure all candidates were either based in or willing to relocate to one of the client’s preferred cities: Warsaw, Kraków, or Wrocław. This required early attention to both technical skills and geographic fit.

Throughout the project, the recruitment process remained flexible to accommodate evolving job descriptions, shifting benefits, and revised interview steps. At the same time, keeping candidates engaged was crucial. Mid-level applicants are often quick to explore other opportunities or lose interest if faced with delays, so DevsData LLC ensured consistent communication and carefully managed expectations. In parallel, the team worked to enhance Where Are Meds Ltd’s visibility in the competitive tech hiring market, positioning the startup as a mission-driven, high-impact workplace despite its relatively low profile among developers.

  1. Reviewed 40+ mid-level developers through re-engagement and targeted outreach.
  2. Identified 20 viable profiles and shortlisted 12 based on technical and geographic fit.
  3. Advanced seven candidates to final interviews.
  4. Successfully hired three mid-level developers in Warsaw, enabling the client to continue platform development without delays.

All hires were secured without offer declines or dropouts, reflecting effective expectation management and strong candidate engagement.
