Direct employment by the client We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with Python for a US-based company that is building the future of e-commerce beginning with bringing a self-serve customer support experience to every e-commerce store out there.
As a Senior Backend Engineer with Python, You will join a high-performing, asynchronous team of experienced builders. Your day-to-day will mostly be focused on owning the end-to-end development and release of product features.
Requirements
Proven work experience in backend development with 5+ years of experience working with Python
Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills
Strong experience with FastAPI or other Python-based web frameworks
Experience with infrastructure services such as AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker
Experience with CI/CD and DevOps processes
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and experience with database technologies (NoSQL, Firebase)
Clear, concise, and direct communication abilities in English
Comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
Self-driven and independent thinker. Extreme ownership. You are the sort who takes pride in your work. Own your code and own the results
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject (or equivalent experience) Responsibilities
Building and maintaining defensive, composable, and testable Python code.
Developing and maintaining a robust API consumed by the front end.
Identifying and addressing pain points, bottlenecks, and bugs that affect engineering efficiency.
Ensuring high quality, maintainability, and performance of the backend systems.
Understanding engineering tradeoffs in order to meet business needs.
Communicating complex concepts and negotiations to non-technical team members.
Effectively collaborating with other team members, stakeholders, and partners.
