Sigmoidal’s POC-first approach allows clients to validate ideas early, minimize risk, and accelerate time to value. By combining global insights with local market understanding, the company develops adaptable AI solutions tailored to evolving business needs.

Challenge

The recruitment project presented several key challenges due to the complexity and urgency of the roles involved.

First, the search was limited to senior-level professionals with hands-on experience in building and deploying machine learning solutions, particularly in NLP and generative AI. These profiles are in high demand and particularly rare in the CEE region, where employers frequently cite talent shortages for advanced AI roles. The technical stack included Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers, and MLOps tools such as MLflow and Kubernetes, which further narrowed the pool of suitable candidates. DevsData LLC’s in-house technical team, composed of senior engineers with direct experience in these frameworks, enabled a deeper level of vetting than generalist recruiters could provide, ensuring only truly qualified candidates advanced in the process.

This collaborative flexibility proved essential, allowing the focus to shift toward candidates with strong backgrounds in AI product delivery and cross-functional coordination.

Finally, the project had to be completed under tight time constraints to avoid disruption to ongoing projects, making speed a critical factor in parallel with candidate quality. This required rapid sourcing, immediate feedback loops, and streamlined communication with all stakeholders.

Our process was designed to reduce time-to-hire while maintaining the highest bar for talent quality.

Phase 1: Discovery & profile calibration

We began by conducting a series of discovery calls with Sigmoidal’s leadership to:

  • Understand the business goals driving the hires
  • Define technical and soft skill requirements for each role
  • Clarify team structure, reporting lines, and project context
  • Align on location preferences and compensation expectations

Based on this, we developed 3 tailored candidate personas:

  1. Senior Data Scientist with experience in LLMs, NLP, and rapid prototyping
  2. Senior Data Scientist with production-level deployment experience and strong MLOps knowledge
  3. Senior Technical Project Manager with a track record in AI product delivery and cross-functional coordination

The upfront calibration prevented mismatched expectations and ensured every candidate was aligned with Sigmoidal’s technical needs, culture, and business goals, saving the client significant interview time.

Phase 2: Sourcing & initial screening

Phase 3: Technical evaluation

Selected candidates underwent rigorous technical assessments designed in collaboration with Sigmoidal’s team. These included:

Phase 5: Offer & onboarding support

After Sigmoidal reviewed the shortlisted candidates and gave final approval, we:
