A key part of Itera’s model is nearshoring, combining local client-facing teams with specialists in Eastern Europe to ensure flexibility, speed, and cost-efficiency. The company builds distributed delivery teams that blend software development, business consulting, and design expertise. As their projects scale, maintaining access to highly qualified, certified IT professionals, especially within the Microsoft ecosystem, is critical to their continued success.

As Itera continued to grow its presence across the Nordics and Central Europe, the need for certified Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform experts became urgent. These roles were not just support functions; they were central to client delivery and long-term strategic projects. Itera required individuals with both deep technical knowledge and the ability to thrive in distributed, agile team environments serving enterprise clients.

The recruitment process was made more complex by the dual expectation of speed and precision. Itera sought five highly qualified professionals in a short timeframe, with strict requirements around Microsoft certifications, particularly Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant Associate, Power Platform App Maker Associate, and Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate. Candidates also needed proven experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (especially Finance & Operations and Sales modules), Power Apps, Power BI, and Azure integrations. In addition, prior consulting experience and familiarity with European business environments were critical for success.

Although Itera maintained an internal talent acquisition function, previous attempts to source these specialists in-house had failed to yield suitable candidates within the desired timeline. The niche expertise and certification requirements significantly limited the talent pool, and earlier outreach efforts, both direct and through generic job boards, proved ineffective.

In addition, this was Itera’s first collaboration with DevsData LLC, meaning expectations were high. We had to demonstrate our capability from day one, not only by delivering qualified candidates, but by aligning closely with Itera’s internal hiring workflows and communication style. Building trust quickly while delivering at scale was one of the defining challenges of this engagement.

Goals

Itera aimed to quickly expand its Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI teams with experts experienced in modules like Finance & Operations, Customer Engagement, and advanced Power BI dashboarding, including DAX and data pipeline integrations. These hires were expected to integrate seamlessly into existing distributed teams and deliver results from day one, often in client-facing roles. In addition to technical depth, Itera placed strong emphasis on adaptability, communication skills, and a high degree of independence: key traits for consultants working across borders in agile settings. With several ongoing and upcoming projects requiring specialized Microsoft stack expertise, time-to-hire became a critical metric.

The client aimed to reduce hiring friction while maintaining high standards, ensuring that only carefully vetted, relevant candidates reached their internal decision-makers.

Our Approach

We began by conducting a rapid needs assessment and market analysis, drawing on the prior experience recruiting Microsoft-certified professionals. Recognizing the urgency, our team organized a video consultation with Itera’s hiring managers within the first 48 hours. During this call, we presented tailored insights on regional talent availability, salary benchmarks, and hiring feasibility across several countries, including Poland, Romania, India, and parts of Western Europe.

With the client’s approval, we launched a targeted sourcing strategy across multiple regions simultaneously. This included direct outreach via LinkedIn, role-specific job boards, and industry communities, supported by posts and campaigns on high-traffic social platforms. By aligning our messaging with Itera’s brand and work culture, we ensured strong initial engagement. Our internal database of over 65000 pre-vetted tech candidates provided an immediate pipeline of relevant profiles to initiate the screening process.

Execution and Delivery

Speed and accuracy defined our delivery model. Within three business days of the initial kickoff, we shared the first batch of qualified candidates, each accompanied by a detailed evaluation summary. Every candidate underwent a multi-stage recruiting process, including technical screening, soft skills assessment, and background verification. Our technical reviewers, senior developers with Microsoft stack expertise, conducted hands-on evaluations to ensure genuine proficiency, especially in Dynamics 365 and Power BI.

We maintained close communication loops with Itera throughout the process, providing regular updates and adjusting candidate criteria in real time based on feedback. In total, over 100 candidates were screened during the engagement. The first successful hire was made in under two weeks, with the remaining roles filled over the course of five weeks.
