Typical duties and responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain data collection systems, databases, and data management procedures to ensure data integrity and accessibility
• Perform complex data manipulation, cleaning, and analysis using various tools and software to identify trends and patterns
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for data management processes, including standard operating procedures and data workflows
• Generate reports, visualizations, and dashboards using tools like Tableau or Power BI to communicate insights to stakeholders
• Implement and monitor data quality control procedures, conducting regular audits to verify accuracy and resolve inconsistencies
• Ensure compliance with data security protocols and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) while maintaining data protection standards
• Provide technical support for database design, development, and integration projects across different platforms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver tailored solutions

Required skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, plus minimum 2 years of experience in a data management role or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, database management, or data processing roles, including internships and academic research projects
• Demonstrated proficiency in database management systems (SQL, NoSQL) and experience in developing and maintaining complex database structures and data processing workflows
• Strong working knowledge of data analysis tools and programming languages, including Python, R, and advanced Excel functions, with proven ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets
• Comprehensive understanding of data quality control methodologies and experience implementing data governance frameworks to maintain data integrity and accuracy
• Proven experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar) and ability to create clear, insightful reports and dashboards for diverse audiences
• Demonstrated knowledge of data security best practices and relevant compliance regulations, with experience in implementing data protection measures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail, particularly in identifying and resolving data discrepancies
• Excellent communication abilities, including experience in explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and creating comprehensive documentation

• Advanced certification in data management or analysis (e.g., IBM Data Analytics, Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate)
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and warehousing solutions such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Proficiency in advanced statistical analysis and machine learning techniques for predictive modeling and pattern recognition
• Knowledge of ETL tools and experience in designing and implementing automated data pipelines
• Industry-specific experience in sectors such as healthcare, finance, or retail, with an understanding of domain-specific data requirements and regulations
