Typical duties and responsibilities

1. Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
2. Develop and implement IT strategies, policies, and procedures that support business growth and innovation.
3. Lead, mentor, and coach a team of IT professionals, including responsibilities for hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
4. Prepare and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency in all IT operations.
5. Oversee IT projects, including system updates, upgrades, migrations, and outages.
6. Implement and oversee security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
7. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
8. Stay updated with the latest technology trends and industry best practices to improve IT infrastructure and services continuously.

Required skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in IT management or a similar role.
• Proficiency in network management, systems administration, and IT security.
• Strong project management skills with experience in managing multiple IT projects simultaneously.
• Proven leadership abilities to manage and mentor IT teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and develop effective solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels.
• Conflict resolution skills to effectively address and resolve challenges within teams and projects.
• Adaptability to navigate and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or CISSP are preferred.

Nice to have/preferred skills and experience (not required)

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Advanced certifications in cloud computing, cybersecurity, or specific technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect), cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM), or specific technologies (e.g., Cisco, VMware).
• Experience in managing IT operations in a specific industry, such as finance, healthcare, or retail.
• Knowledge of specific software and tools relevant to the industry, such as ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, Slack.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
