3. Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard the company’s assets.
4. Guide financial decisions by applying company policies to the current economic landscape, helping to forecast and plan for growth.
5. Monitor and report financial performance, including budgeting, program performance, and expenditures, on a regular basis (biweekly, monthly, and annually).
6. Ensure compliance with national and local tax regulations, including overseeing the preparation and submission of regulatory reports.
7. Collaborate with the CFO to establish financial and operating benchmarks, and ensure all programs and processes adhere to these standards.
8. Support the development of short- and long-term operational strategies by providing detailed financial insights and recommendations.
9. Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a productive and trustworthy work environment.

Required skills and experience

• 10+ years of professional accounting experience with a proven track record in financial management.
• Strong understanding of banking processes, financial data analysis, and financial reporting standards.
• Thorough knowledge of national and local tax regulations, including compliance and reporting.
• Experience managing payroll systems with a focus on improving efficiency and accuracy.
• Proven experience in financial project management, including the development and implementation of financial strategies.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring and developing accounting professionals to foster growth and efficiency.
• Proficiency in modern financial software and ERP systems, with a track record of streamlining financial processes through technology integration.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders effectively.
• Understanding of application security best practices and regulations.

Nice to have/preferred skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a senior-level accounting or finance role.
• Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant).
• Experience working in the same or similar industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with financial software systems and tools for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
